During this time I know our minds can take a turn towards all that’s going wrong. We are experiencing two major pandemics across our world and our country. One being COVID-19 and the other being systemic racism.
Yesterday as I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Therapy For Black Girls, the conversation was about self care and things you can do to take care of you. One thing that got my attention was gratitude journaling. I’d heard about it before, but it grabbed me differently this time, as I’m currently focusing on ways to self care.
When gratitude journaling, each day you are to think and write about 2-3 things that you are grateful for. I immediately thought about my growing relationship with God, my family, and me being able to write.
This then reminded me of the scripture in the Bible that says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.“
